He spent 24m on a player we didn't need and ignored our obvious defensive frailty.
Regardless if how much money he was given, that is plain foolish!

where is all this hate for pellegrini coming from?''

Seriously, grow the fuck up. People are quite rightly questioning his tactics and selections as a highly paid PL manager. Hate?? Fucking idiot.

I don't think they're particularly undermining him, they just have a figure they're willing to spend and how much they want to make from the club and don't budge. I watched all the pre-season games and these first two and it's the lack of cohesion and intensity that's most worrying, but I'll continue to back him so early in to a season

No, I get staying in the prem is the end goal, I just don’t understand how undermining the manager 2 games in helps achieve that?

rochester, haven't you worked it out yet that staying up is all they care about? they're not bothered as long as the sky money keeps coming in and the ground is full. football is secondary to making money

honeymoon was over for pellegrini after sully's ringpieces started gunning for him after three games last season.

does every club owner have their own little army of influential bootlickers to call on whenever they need something spun? or is that just our particular honour given the particular skillset of a former sunday sport owner for peddling bollocks?

I’d share the blame between MP and the board who expect progress on £25m.

Either way why does he feel the need to do this?

rochesterjohn 12:06 Tue Aug 20
Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
He’s on £10m a year and picks the players he wanted to sign as well as putting the team out , who else is there to “blame?” as you put it.

goose 12:03 Tue Aug 20
Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Because he wants MP to take the blame.
Special mentions in the article about how much they pay MP, and how they should have signed a defensive midfielder instead of Fornals.

Classic Sullivan.

Too right.
Fredricks and Masuaku don't seem to know where there they are let alone who they are playing with.
His trust in Wilshire to deliver isn't working, now he's surely going to have to change that role.

Why would he?
Unless he’s unhappy with what he’s seeing then he has nothing to gain by undermining the manager?

Sullivan has started early undermining the current manager........

Barring the final season at the Boleyn, last season's finish was the best position we've had in the table since promotion from the championship, and again barring that one glorious season, we played some absolute fucking shit particularly in the new stadium.

We were a shambles when Pellers took over which isn't to say we're a finished product now, but fucking hell, we're 2 games into the season. Give it a little time. We played some good football last season. There will be more to come.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Too attacking I’m presuming means we have too many luxury players who lose the ball too easily.
And aren’t good enough to justify their lack of work and resilience going backwards.
To be truly ‘attacking’ you have to have a strong core of a team and excellent ball retention and control to support players who want to be ahead of the ball.
Liverpool are a good example
We aren’t Liverpool or anything near them

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
We had some spells of decent attacking football followed by some dire performances which is us all over .Then again MP has had access to more funds than any manager so he needs to show us what he has this season

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I think the is the main problem we thought we would be a more attacking team and currently we are not.
If that occur I think we will all shut up

One Mac

The Pellegrini philosophy is to outscore the opposition with possession based attacking football, which in itself is flawed with the players we have.
The fact is, he’s not even close to delivering a style that would fail anyway!
He’ll be gone by Xmas unless he bites the bullet and adopts a more pragmatic style of playing, personally think he’s far too stubborn.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Agree OM, we create very few actual chances and we look ponderous in attack, like a poor man's ArsenaI trying to walk the ball into the net in the last few Wenger years. I think most are not saying too attacking just disappointed.
Not incisive enough.
We do concede too many goals though, you only have to look at last season's talky and this one so far to see that.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I can’t believe some people seem to think we’re too attacking.

I see it completely different. We seem to have less shots and less possession in nearly every game we’ve played under Pellegrini. I really thought he was going to turn us into a 55+% possession team, with plenty of efforts on goal, especially against the teams in the lower half.

Pound for pound I haven’t been at all impressed with him as a Manager.
